Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement (AP) at Quincy High School

Quincy High School offers a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses to provide students with the opportunity to engage in college-level coursework and potentially earn college credit. AP courses are designed to challenge students and prepare them for the rigors of college, and our district is committed to ensuring that all students have access to these opportunities.

Advanced Placement courses end with a required advanced placement examination that can lead to college credit; the classes will be managed with college expectations. AP classes are for students seeking enrollment in selective four-year colleges. Students should anticipate intense pacing and collegiate analysis of the curriculum. Students should be accomplished independent learners who are highly self-motivated and can manage rigorous homework expectations. Summer work may be required. The fee for an AP exam is determined by the College Board. More information can be obtained through your school counselor or at www.collegeboard.com.
